On August 15th, we, the Sisters, come together for a cherished tradition, processing a statue of our Lady throughout the convent while singing and praying the rosary. It is not only the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary that we are celebrating but it is also the anniversary of the foundation of our Congregation.  In this act of devotion, we ask Mary to bless our home and to guide us in living as true spouses of Christ and Servants of Mary.  She is our example par excellence.  When we call ourselves Servants of Mary, we are really saying that we want to serve Christ in the same spirit she did: with humility, courage, tenderness and unwavering faith until we arrive at our true home in heaven.  This feast is a reminder of our destiny.  Mary’s homecoming to heaven is the promise of our own.  As we walk with her, she leads us to the fullness of life in Christ.  This hope strengthens our ministry.  It allows us to accompany the dying with peace, to comfort families with faith, and to serve with a joy rooted not in this world but in the world to come.
